Welcome to Mallaig Primary School!
Mallaig Primary is a non-denonminational school situated in the very heart of a small fishing village on the West Coast of Scotland. For more information on our local are then please visit:-
The School Crest
Built in 1981, the school is housed in attractive premises of semi-open plan design and is sited with a commanding view over Mallaig harbour below, and the Isle of Skye beyond.
The school features seven class bases, a multi purpose hall with adjacent canteen, well equipped music and computer rooms, and a learning support base. In addition there are the usual offices, staff room and toilet facilities. A fenced tarmaced playground sits above the school and a garden area lies below, and these is also an enclosed play area adjacent to the Nursery buildings.
Mallaig Primary School
The school currently has a roll of 101 including Nursery children, and serves the catchment area of Mallaig village, although a number of pupils from Morar and Arisaig also attend.
The English and Gaelic nurseries are an integral section of the school, and are situated adjacent to the school hall with easy access to toilets, gymnasium, outdoor play area, and the Primary 1 classroom to which most children will transfer on completion of their year in nursery education.
