New Retaining Wall Built!

FIRST STEP IN IMPROVING SCHOOL GROUNDS IS BUILT DURING SUMMER BREAK.

Those of you who have visited the school since the summer break may have noticed the brand new wall which has been constructed at the base of the upper playground. This wall was built during the summer holidays and forms the first stage of an overhaul of the exterior of the school.

Prior to the wall being installed this area had proved a cause for concern as the previous bank had been not only unsightly but a hazard to the children, staff and visitors alike.

The New Wall!

Head Teacher Miss Martin told Mallaigprimary.com “We are delighted that this wall is now in place as it is the first step in our programme of improvements to the school grounds. The workman came during the summer holidays and built the wall, and also relayed many of the paving slabs outside the school in an effort to remedy the flooding problems we have been having. Our Eco committee have made plans to plant flowers on the banks created, and we also hope to decorate the wall itself. Alongside our exciting new Supergrounds project, we plan to continue a systematic programme of improvements to the school exterior over the next few years.”

Full details of further developments will be posted on this website.
